Today I would like to share a technique with you that can help you find emotional freedom. It’s called tapping EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique. You may have already heard of it, but please stick around because I’ll be giving an example that could be relevant to you.
The beauty of this technique is that it addresses both the mind and body, unlike other techniques that focus on one or the other. Our beliefs, pains, and stories are not just stored in the mind, but in the mind and body together. Moreover, we can use our body to change our mind, as our body often affects our mental state.
What’s fascinating about tapping EFT is that it wasn’t created, but rather channeled, like many techniques. As people began to see how effective it is, studies were conducted to understand how it works.
The explanation is that we tap through Meridian points, which calms the body and nervous system, while also thinking about our nervous system. This creates a conflict between the body and mind, with the mind wanting to be anxious and aroused, while the body is calm. This conflict leads to the creation of new synapses that override anxiety and change something in the body and mind.
Tapping EFT can also be used to program more positive beliefs, as it induces a trance-like state that helps us overcome the ego that tries to keep negative beliefs out of our being.
The technique starts with a setup statement, where we tap on the karate chop point and repeat a statement that sets the intention of pouring love and acceptance into our life and ourselves. We then tap through different points on the body while repeating certain phrases.
If you’re new to tapping, it may seem strange to do this out loud or in front of others. However, it’s important to say the phrases out loud to get the full benefit of the technique. If that’s not possible, saying the phrases in your head can still be effective.
I will guide you through a story that involves different parts of the technique, including setup statements, pinpointing issues, and reprogramming. The aim is to address the negative thought patterns and traumas that we all carry, which can create disturbances in our lives. By the end of the tapping session, you’ll have a different relationship with these issues and emotions.
So if you’re ready, let’s get started.
